Action concept works primarily for action formats for the private broadcaster RTL. The company rarely works for ProSiebenSat1 Media AG and Das Erste. Here is an overview of the productions of the film production company.
AWARD WINNING
The Taurus World Stunt Award is considered the most prestigious award in the action film industry – and for the eighth time it has gone to the RTL action series “Alarm für Cobra 11”. In total, the stunt company Action Concept has now pocketed the award for an RTL production for the tenth time.
Philipp Steffens, Divisional Head RTL Fiction, says: “For over 25 years, ‘Alarm für Cobra 11’ has been one of the most successful, longest lasting and bestselling action series in the world. Since it began, the series has constantly redefined itself and keeps developing, remains loyal to its fans and always attracts new viewers, as the great ratings of the current season demonstrate. And for more than 20 years, Action Concept has worked on always outperforming itself and proving that it is the undefeated stunt champion.”
On behalf of the entire team, Stunt Coordinator Carl Stück accepted the “Taurus World Stunt Award” last Saturday evening at the Paramount Theatre in Los Angeles: “It was an impressive event and again a great honor for me to receive this bronze statue that weights twelve kilograms.” With its tenth award, Action Concept has set a world record, according to the company.
In the “Best Action in a Foreign Film” category, a jury consisting of the leading stunt professionals in the world and renowned members of the stunt community chose the 90-minute episode “Cobra, übernehmen Sie!”, in which Daniel Roesner was introduced as “Paul Renner”. The episode premiered on RTL on 7 April 2016. This year, the competition was especially strong: “Tschiller: Off Duty” by and with Til Schweiger and “La Corrispondenza” along with action films from Italy, Russia, Spain and Belarus were among the nominees.
HERMANN JOHA
Action concept is headed by founder and CEO Hermann Joha. Joha began his media career at an early age doing stunt work for established film production companies. In 1982, he founded the media production company “Driving Unit” in Dusseldorf, Germany. The company not only performed stunt work, but was also part of state-run television crime productions, as a second unit with action loaded staging. In 1996, Joha directed the made-for-TV-movie The Clown. Even today, this movie remains one of the most successful in-house movies that RTL television has ever broadcast. In 2012 Joha received the Deutscher Fernsehpreis (German Television Award) for “Special Achievements in Fiction”.
